The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.
At Nottinghamshire County Council, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people. Our Children & Families Services team is committed to supporting care leavers as they transition into adulthood. We believe in fostering a nurturing environment where every individual can thrive and reach their full potential.
We are seeking a passionate Personal Advisor to join our North team based in Ollerton. This role is for 4 days a week (30 hours) and will last for up to two years due to the current postholder being on secondment. You will work with care leavers aged 16 to 21, providing essential support as they navigate their journey into adulthood. Your work will cover areas including Worksop, Retford, Ollerton, and Newark, and may extend to young people across the county and beyond, including some asylum-seeking young people.
As a Personal Advisor, Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
Managing a caseload of young people, offering tailored support and guidance. Advocating for young people’s needs and negotiating with other agencies to ensure they receive the necessary services. Assisting care leavers in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities. Building positive, sustainable relationships with a diverse group of young people. Supporting young people in developing the emotional resilience and skills needed for independence.
