The Brett Lee Trust are seeking a Personal Care Assistant.

Main Purpose of Your Role:

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality one-to-one assistance to a 52-year-old man who is looking for a genuinely caring nature, be respectful, patient, reliable, calm when under pressure, flexible in adapting to the way he likes and dedicated to work comfortably to supporting his tailored needs within his family home environment and around friendly dogs; and fulfilling his lifestyle. You will genuinely care about making a positive difference in someone’s life.

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are key. You are committed to become a long-standing member to the team. You will be guided by his family and established staff team so being a strong team player is essential.

This role is centred around building trust, promoting dignity, and supporting daily routines and personal goals. He has some health care needs and requires full time support during the day and to be present at night. He values stability in his care arrangements, ensuring his needs are met with minimal disruption. He thrives in a calm and positive environment with people who understand and respond well to his non-verbal communication.

You will play a vital part in enabling him to participate in social, recreational, and community activities, i.e. daily trips out, swimming, sailing, bowling, cycling, dog walking and shopping while ensuring his comfort and safety at home.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support mobility and physical activity, including walking, exercise, or using mobility aids.
  • Help with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining a healthy diet.
  • Administer or prompt medication as required.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce isolation.
  • Accompany the client to appointments, social outings, or errands.
  • Monitor wellbeing and report any concerns to relevant professionals or family members.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Carry out light household duties.
  • Undertake regular training competencies updates.

What you will need:

  • Full and Clean UK Driving Licence (Client has own car).
  • Meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes.
  • Experience in Social Care.
  • Good health and fitness with an aptitude for lone working.
  • Non-smokers.
