Personal Development Tutor | Term-Time Only (37 hours) | Permanent

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and student-focused Personal Development Tutor to deliver our Personal Development Tutorial Programme (BPC Grow), supporting students in achieving success academically, personally, and professionally.

This is a fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping student wellbeing, engagement, progression, and employability. You will help students develop essential skills, behaviours, and resilience to thrive in adulthood and the world of work.

Collaborating with curriculum teams, support services, and external partners, you will contribute to an outstanding, inclusive student experience aligned with College priorities and safeguarding commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Personal Development Tutor, your role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with a cohort of students, serving as their primary point of contact to ease their transition into college life.
  • Deliver engaging, interactive BPC Grow tutorial sessions, workshops, and group activities using student-led methodologies.
  • Provide tailored support for students’ academic progress, well-being, confidence, and personal growth.
  • Monitor attendance and engagement, collaborating with teaching teams to enhance participation.
  • Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding and well-being concerns, adhering to protocols and directing students to specialist services when needed.
  • Offer personalised support for vulnerable learners, including acting as a keyworker for Children in Care (CiC) and Care Leavers.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, Learning Managers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive student guidance.
  • Maintain accurate student records and contribute to data monitoring and reporting.
  • Assist students in planning (progression, employability, and career-focused) routes.
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in all interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively within a supportive and dynamic Student Experience team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
