The Role

As a Personal Tax Director, you will lead a team in delivering complex personal tax compliance and advisory work. You will oversee significant client portfolios, develop new business opportunities, and guide your team to excel in technical and client service standards. You’ll drive process improvements, support digital transformation initiatives, and promote an ethical, collaborative, and high-performance environment. Your leadership will shape the future growth and reputation of the practice.

The Ideal Candidate

You will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business development experience to the role. Your ability to manage client relationships and develop new revenue streams will be key to your success. Mandatory

  • Hold an accountancy and/or tax qualification (ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA) or be qualified by experience
  • Proven experience managing personal tax portfolios within an accountancy practice
  • Strong background in complex personal tax compliance and advisory work
  • Demonstrable success in building client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams, supporting talent development and resource planning

Preferred

  • Experience with broader technical aspects of other finance service lines
  • Knowledge of digital transformation initiatives within an accounting environment
  • Skills in pricing strategies and revenue maximisation
  • Understanding of performance monitoring and team underperformance management
