Personal Tax Manager – Faversham, Kent
User accountancy practice based in Faversham, Kent, is recruiting for a Personal Tax Manager to join their successful tax team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an industry-leading accountancy firm, offering autonomy, support from an experienced team, and strong progression prospects. The role also prioritises a great work-life balance.
Our client specialises in owner-managed businesses and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) across the Southeast, and this role is designed for an expert in personal tax with a focus on complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including UK individuals, HNWIs, and trusts, with complex tax affairs.
- Lead tax planning projects covering:
- Non-domicile issues
- Onshore and offshore trusts (including other tax structures)
- Capital gains and inheritance tax planning
- Prepare and review advanced personal tax returns beyond standard compliance.
- Oversee team compliance functions, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Handle HMRC enquiries, drafting responses to both compliance and advisory correspondence where relevant.
- Manage junior team members, including technical development and mentoring.
- Support the Director with tax department growth, strategy, and operational improvements.

Requirements
Industry specialists are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will:
- Have Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) status, or at least an ATPA/ATT, ACA, or ACCA qualification.
- Have developed their career primarily in personal tax within an accountancy practice or specialist tax firm.
- Have experience from Top Tier, Top Ten, Big 50 firms, large regional independents, or specialist tax advisory functions, with a strong practical background in personal tax compliance and strategic planning.
- Demonstrate a proven portfolio management skill set, including complex client handling and stakeholder management.
