Personal Tax Manager

The Role
They are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to:
- Lead complex compliance and advisory services within the fast-paced tax department.
- Drive service delivery while managing key client relationships.
- Support the growth of future talent, ensuring compliant, efficient operations, and maintaining high standards.
- Foster a positive team culture and advocate for best practices in the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of personal tax compliance services, including:
- Self-assessment submissions.
- VAT issues.
- Manage and nurture client relationships, providing:
- Ad hoc technical and planning advice.
- Deliver advisory assignments, working within cross-disciplinary teams to:
- Identify opportunities that add value for clients.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, sharing expertise in:
- Compliance and advisory work.
- Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Promote a collaborative environment grounded in integrity and excellence within the team.

Ideal Candidate
Mandatory Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in:
- Personal tax compliance, advisory, or planning.
- Proven track record in:
- Managing client relationships.
- Leading teams or mentorship initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of:
- UK tax legislation, including:
- PAYE.
- Self-assessment.
- VAT.
- UK tax legislation, including:
- Strong technical proficiency in:
- Excel and tax software.
- Alignment with core values:
- Integrity.
- Collaboration.
- Continuous improvement.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification (e.g., ATT, CTA, CA) or have equivalent experience. (Note: Desirable but not essential.)
Preferred Criteria
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary advisory environments.
- History of leading process improvements or automation projects.
- Familiarity with UK compliance standards, e.g.:
- IFRS.
- FRS 102.
- Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients and team members.
- Flexible approach, including managing:
- Occasional in-person client meetings.
- Virtual team interactions.
