Personal Tax Senior Manager - CTA Qualified
Senior Personal Tax Manager – Private Client Tax (KT Area)
Location: KT area Sector: Private Client Tax Salary: £75,000–£85,000 per annum
We are delighted to partner with a well-established accountancy practice in the KT area, seeking to expand its Private Client team with a Senior Personal Tax Manager. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional who thrives on delivering high-level compliance and advisory services, especially for high-net-worth individuals (including non-resident and non-domiciled (NDOM) clients).
The Role
As Senior Manager, you will play a strategic role in enhancing the firm’s expertise while shaping client relationships and delivering specialist tax planning. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing personal tax returns prepared by consultants and providing technical oversight
- Advising on estate planning, inheritance tax (IHT) mitigation, wealth structuring, and domicile status—with particular emphasis on UK vs. non-domiciled matters
- Identifying opportunities to improve clients’ tax efficiencies and presenting tax restructuring strategies to the senior partner and clients
- Serving as a trusted point of client contact alongside the Partner, acting as a strategic business developer
- Managing and escalating HMRC investigations where necessary

Requirements
The practice seeks a motivated, technically strong, and verbally confident individual capable of delivering precise, world-class tax advice to a discerning client base. Ideal candidates should:
- Hold the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in private client tax
- Demonstrate a proven track record advising complex HNW UK, EU, and non-domiciled clients (including cross-border tax planning)
- Possess a deep understanding of personal tax planning and advisory tools, including:
- Capital gains and income tax strategies
- Inheritance tax exemption planning
- Residency, domicile, and tax residency relief
- Excel in business acumen while maintaining confidentiality for sensitive client matters
- Deliver sharp, compelling written communication to both clients and internal stakeholders
- Operate effectively under pressure, meeting strict deadlines in a high-stakes environment
- Showcase dexterity with tax software (e.g., IFS, CloudTax, Comte(implying resilience and ability to adapt).
