Ward Williams is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Personal Tax ATT Trainee to join our friendly and experienced Personal Tax team based in our Uxbridge office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in tax and accountancy who is eager to learn, develop professionally, and build a long-term career.
As a trainee, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues who will coach, mentor, and support you every step of the way. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience—and learn the realities of personal taxation—while making a genuine contribution to our clients and the wider business.

Responsibilities
As a Personal Tax ATT Trainee, you’ll become part of our experienced Personal Tax team, supporting a wide variety of clients while developing the technical and professional skills needed for a successful career in tax.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of personal tax returns.
- Supporting the preparation of Benefits in Kind returns (P11Ds).
- Assisting with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and supporting clients as the tax system continues to evolve.
- Liaising with HMRC regarding clients' tax affairs.
- Managing HMRC correspondence and maintaining accurate client records.
- Supporting the smooth running of the Personal Tax department through administrative and compliance activities.
- Assisting colleagues and Directors with tax-related queries and projects.
- Communicating professionally with clients, HMRC, and colleagues.
- Developing your technical knowledge through practical experience and structured learning.

Requirements
Technical knowledge can be taught. Ward Williams is looking for someone with the right attitude, genuine curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
You’ll ideally have:
- A genuine interest in accountancy and taxation.
- Excellent communication and numerical skills.
- Strong IT skills. Experience with CCH Tax software would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
- An interest in technology and how digital developments, including Making Tax Digital (MTD), are shaping the future of tax.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach and a willingness to engage in office life.

Location and Committment
