Here at Pets, we want people who are passionate about pets and care about their community, the type of person who stops to greet a passing dog and sits on the pavement to make friends with a cat. People who understand how important pets are to the people who love them, and who want to help us create a friendly, safe, welcoming space for pet owners at a local level. It is fast-paced, innovative, fun, and we put people at the very heart of everything we do.
Right now, we are looking for a Pet Health Checker to join our Pet Delivery Team in Llandudno.
The Role
Pet Welfare is our top priority and in this job role you will be responsible for exactly that.
As part of a team of Pet Health Checkers you will be reporting to the Small Animal Welfare Manager and your main remit will be to assess the health of the pets before preparing them for their journey to our stores to find their forever home. Other duties will include (but are not limited to) deep cleaning of working areas, managing usage orders, cleaning out and providing food and water to the pets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
