A Little More About Your Role…
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven PFAS Lead to shape and grow our UK PFAS service offering. This role will sit within the Contaminated Land business and will report directly to the Contaminated Land Service Lead, ensuring alignment with wider Ground & Water strategy and objectives. The primary focus of the role includes work winning, revenue growth, and market positioning, supported by strong technical leadership.
You will lead the development of a best-in-class PFAS capability, securing major commissions across key sectors including energy, aviation, defence, and industrial infrastructure. Acting as a recognised subject matter expert, you will support clients in managing complex PFAS liabilities across the full project lifecycle, aligned with WSP’s established capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
The PFAS Technical Lead will be responsible for originating, developing, and converting a strong pipeline of PFAS-related opportunities, working closely with sector leads and key account teams to position WSP as the consultant of choice. You will lead major bids and proposals, define winning strategies, and translate technical excellence into compelling client solutions, with clear accountability for revenue growth and work-winning performance.
You will act as the external face of WSP’s PFAS capability in the UK, building and maintaining senior client relationships and providing strategic advice on regulatory risk, liability management, and remediation approaches. Engagement with regulators and industry bodies will be central to the role, alongside representing WSP through thought leadership, conferences, and technical publications.
Alongside commercial priorities, you will provide technical leadership and oversight across complex PFAS projects, including site investigation, hydrogeological assessment, risk assessment, and remediation design. You will ensure that all technical outputs are robust, defensible, and aligned with regulatory expectations, supporting successful project delivery and client confidence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

In addition, you will build and lead a high-performing team, supporting capability development, recruitment, and internal best practice, ensuring alignment between pipeline growth, technical delivery capacity and integrating UK capability with WSP’s international PFAS expertise.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
A strong track record of winning and delivering environmental or contaminated land projects, with demonstrable experience in developing client relationships and securing repeat business. A deep technical knowledge of PFAS contamination, risk assessment, and remediation, combined with a strong commercial mindset and experience leading bids and proposals.
