We are seeking experienced Trim & Final PFMEA Engineers to support automotive manufacturing programmes through the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust process risk management and quality planning activities.

Working within a cross-functional engineering environment, the successful candidates will be responsible for identifying and mitigating manufacturing risks, leading PFMEA activities, developing quality deliverables, and supporting process readiness throughout prototype, launch, and production phases.

The role will also involve the use of a recently implemented digital PFMEA and risk management platform, ensuring that process data, risk assessments, actions, and quality documentation are accurately maintained while providing support in refining and optimising the system to meet operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Risk Discovery and Preliminary Risk Assessment activities across Trim & Final manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to identify process risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
  • Create and maintain Process Parameter Diagrams (P-Diagrams).
  • Generate and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) documentation in accordance with AIAG & VDA methodology.
  • Conduct Design Reviews Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM) where process, product, tooling, or equipment changes are introduced.
  • Identify process failure modes, causes, effects, and controls to reduce manufacturing risk.
  • Develop, manage, and track Action & Risk Reduction Plans through to completion.
  • Create and maintain Special Characteristics Registers.
  • Develop and support Prototype, Pre-Launch, and Production Control Plans.
  • Ensure PFMEA outputs are aligned with manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, Launch, Programme Management, and Supplier teams.
  • Capture, manage, and maintain quality and risk-related information within the digital PFMEA software platform.
  • Support the ongoing development and optimisation of the software system by providing user feedback and helping establish best practices.
  • Ensure quality documentation remains accurate, standardised, and compliant with programme requirements.
  • Support manufacturing readiness reviews, programme gateways, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute to process robustness, defect prevention, and ongoing quality performance improvements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
