Explore a rewarding opportunity as a Hospital Pharmacist in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and motivated pharmacist to join a hospital team on a locum basis, supporting perioperative care and medicines optimisation.

Key details:

  • ASAP start
  • £30 per hour PAYE
  • 3 to 5 days per week
  • Summer role with potential extension beyond

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and senior pharmacists.

  • Support perioperative medicine management across surgical pathways
  • Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and prescribing best practice
  • Involvement in enhanced recovery pathways and patient safety initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perioperative medicine management
  • Postoperative analgesia optimisation
  • Management of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV)
  • Antimicrobial stewardship
  • Venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention, including hospital-acquired thrombosis
  • Perioperative care of elderly patients
  • Enhanced recovery pathways
  • Medicines optimisation

Ideal Candidate:

  • GPhC registered Pharmacist
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
