We’re seeking an enthusiastic Bank Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at HMP YOI Doncaster, a Category C & D prison accommodating 1,400 male inmates. Located centrally in Doncaster, this role offers excellent transport links, on-site parking, and access to a gym.
Hours & Salary
- Contract: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (ad-hoc cover required to accommodate absences)
- Salary: £36.00 per hour

Responsibilities
As a Bank Pharmacist, your key duties include:
- Providing expert clinical advice on prescribing, polypharmacy and medicines optimisation to meet NHS and prison service standards
- Delivering an integrated, safe, and high-quality prison pharmacy service aligned with population needs
- Leading a pharmacy team and fostering an ethical, inclusive, and aspirational work environment to improve staff retention
- Communicating best practice in medicines management safeguards to healthcare staff
- Informing patients and providers about:
- Medicines legislation
- Pharmaceutical product knowledge
- Healthcare education

Our Health in Justice team (Practice Plus Group) operates across 53 prisons, YOIs, and immigration centres, delivering NHS healthcare to 40,000+ patients daily.

Qualifications & Experience
✔ Qualificatives
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Must have completed a vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, including pre-registration training.
✔ Desirable
- Experience working in hospitals, community pharmacies, or secure settings.
