Capitalising on the success of their London flagship hospital, their new site will offer a wide range of medical diagnostic and same-day minimally invasive services, including heart health, lung health, digestive health, ENT, endoscopy, and neurology.

This position as a Pharmacist is a key role within the Pharmacy team. We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to dispense prescriptions accurately and check prescriptions and ward orders dispensed by others, e.g. pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and assistants. You will be liaising with prescribers when prescriptions require clarification and issuing medication to patients and carers with appropriate counselling. Also supporting an efficient ordering and stock control system in the pharmacy, ensuring system stock levels are correct and orders are processed in line with local procedures. In addition, you will ensure compliance with current legislation under the Medicines Act for the dispensing, supply, and sale of medicines.
You will be supported by the Clinical Services Director but will also work closely with the Pharmacy Manager, as well as working with the Superintendent Pharmacist who is based at One Welbeck London.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of running a smooth and efficient day-to-day pharmacy service, including acting as the Responsible Pharmacist and supervising pharmacy staff to maintain legal and professional standards as necessary.
- Assist in the provision of a patient-focused clinical pharmacy and dispensing service.
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in managing the work of the pharmacy team helping to co-ordinate operational deployment of staff
- Be responsible for and initiate liaison with staff including other staff in the Centre / Nursing staff and Consultants concerning prescriptions and medicine management issues.
- Provide pharmaceutical advice ensuring safe, effective, economical and timely pharmaceutical care for the patients and ensuring compliance with medicines legislation and policies
- Participate in the Saturday duty cover if required.

What can you bring?
- Member of the GPhC as a registered Pharmacist
- MPharm or equivalent
- Good understanding of patient care pathways and processes
- Dispensary experience – community or hospital
- Experience of Policy / procedure Guideline development
- Clinical audit experience
- Demonstrates good clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge
- Awareness of current issues in Pharmacy
- Good clinical skills to analyse prescriptions
- Demonstrates good understanding of key government objective and publications
- Understanding of issues affecting medicines use across the interface
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates ability to manage complex problems
- Ability to prioritise well and work under pressure
- Excellent lecture, presentation, IT and numerate skills
