Position Summary
The Clinical Advisor position is an exciting opportunity for pharmacists to leverage their clinical expertise in a client-facing role. This role will support the management of a large custom client with commercial and EGWP business. You will utilize your clinical and analytical skills within a managed care environment to positively impact the health of plan members while also helping to reduce healthcare costs.
Your role will involve serving as the clinical subject matter expert on the account team, providing clinical consulting services by analyzing drug utilization patterns and trends for our Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) clients. In this role, you will be focusing on the clinical aspects of clients' benefit plans, as well as ensuring client prescription drug formularies and clinical benefits are set up and maintained efficiently. Your success will be measured by maintaining above-average client satisfaction scores and contributing to the account team's ability to increase client revenue through clinical programs and solutions. You will also act as a liaison with internal teams and other clinicians to support clinical programs on behalf of the client, ensuring that results are achieved.
Superior analytical, writing, and organizational skills, along with the ability to meet tight deadlines, will be essential for your success in this position. The contributions you make as a Clinical Advisor will position CVS Health for long-term growth in the competitive PBM marketplace.
This position can be located anywhere in the United States, with the flexibility to work remotely or in a corporate hub location. You must be willing to travel up to 5-10% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical subject matter expert on the clinical account team
- Leverage your analytical skills to provide clinical consulting services through analyzing drug utilization patterns and trends for the client
- Work collaboratively with the client on commercial and Medicare Part D clinical initiatives and programs
- Act as a liaison with internal teams and other clinicians to support clinical programs on behalf of the client
- Maintain above-average client satisfaction scores

Required Qualifications
- 3 years of managed care experience and/or 1 year of CVS Health or other Managed Care Residency program
- Active pharmacist license that is in good standing in state of residence
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated comfort in working with large sets of data
- Excellent presentation and oral/written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in Formulary and Utilization Management within PBM environment
- Commitment to client service and relationship building
- Knowledge of PBM adjudication engines and other systems leveraged in support of pharmacy benefit clients
- Ability to travel typically 5-10% of the time. Travel may require but is not limited to flights, overnight stays, local travel, travel on short notice and other travel deemed necessary by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting clinical pharmacy programs serving commercial and Medicare Part D/EGWP clients
- Advanced analytical skills with specific focus on quantitative analysis methods strongly preferred
- Established knowledge of supporting formulary and benefit setup and coding strongly preferred
- Expertise with PBM adjudication engines and other systems leveraged in support of pharmacy benefit clients
- Working knowledge of the different drug compendia adopted in PBM work
- Strong business acumen
- Experience in a client-facing role
- Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize, and resolve complex problems
- Experience managing template and/or customized formularies and/or PBM clinical pharmacy programs
Education
- Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy or PharmD

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $110,925.00 - $249,600.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
