Salary: Up to £12.95 per hour (depending on level of experience, training, and qualification)

The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include

  • Assist in the preparation and labelling of medicines for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge prescriptions under appropriate supervision.
  • Support the safe supply of medicines, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and distribution to wards and departments.
  • Monitor stock levels and expiry dates, helping maintain accurate inventory across the pharmacy and clinical areas.
  • Assist with the completion of relevant records, prescription tracking, and data entry on pharmacy systems.
  • Respond to basic enquiries from patients, nursing staff, or other colleagues in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Adhere to all health and safety, infection prevention, and medicines management protocols.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

  • Good general education including literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience in a customer service, healthcare, or stock-handling role.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under supervision.
