Role Description

The Pharmacy Assistant role at Naimans Pharmacies is a full-time, on-site position based in Yeovil. The Pharmacy Assistant supports the daily operation of the pharmacy, including:

  • Preparing and labeling prescriptions under supervision
  • Organizing stock
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly workspace

  • Assisting customers at the counter
  • Answering questions
  • Handling phone calls with professional etiquette
  • Directing patients to the pharmacist for clinical advice when needed

The Pharmacy Assistant also helps with:

  • Inventory checks
  • Restocking shelves
  • Processing transactions accurately

Collaboration with pharmacists and other team members to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-centered service is a core part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patients and carers in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations and prescription handling, with attention to detail and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards.
  • Competence in inventory management, including stock control, ordering, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Effective phone etiquette and communication skills for responding to inquiries and coordinating with healthcare professionals.
  • Basic numeracy and IT skills for processing payments, managing point-of-sale systems, and updating electronic records.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work accurately under supervision, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or retail setting is beneficial.
  • Relevant pharmacy assistant training or certification, or willingness to undertake training as required.
