Are you looking for a rewarding career in healthcare with opportunities to learn, develop and progress? At Day Lewis Pharmacy Newent, we're looking for a friendly, motivated and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in both the dispensary and on the pharmacy counter, with clear career progression into Pharmacy Technician training and beyond.
Working Hours (26 Hours Per Week)
- Monday: 9:00am - 6:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
- Wednesday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- Thursday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- Friday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
About The Role
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Pharmacist Manager and the wider pharmacy team to deliver exceptional patient care and customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and providing excellent customer service at the pharmacy counter.
- Supporting the dispensary with the safe and efficient preparation of prescriptions.
- Building positive relationships with patients and local healthcare professionals.
- Helping ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently while following company policies and procedures.
- Supporting the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Being an integral member of a friendly, hardworking and supportive team.

Your journey will begin with the comprehensive Day Lewis Induction Programme, helping you settle into your role and build your confidence.
Depending on your previous pharmacy experience, you may then complete a recognised Pharmacy Assistant qualification, typically taking between 3-6 months.
For those looking to build a long-term career, our vision is to develop the next generation of Pharmacy Technicians. We fully support colleagues through further education, training and course reimbursement.
You'll also have the opportunity to progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Diploma - Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, an industry-recognised qualification that reflects the growing clinical responsibilities and professional recognition of Pharmacy Technicians.

Previous pharmacy experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
