Pharmacy Assistant (Oxford)

Job Details
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday. This is a permanent, on-site position based at our Oxford centre.
About the Role
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you'll support the delivery of a safe, efficient and patient-focused pharmacy service, working closely with our pharmacists and wider multidisciplinary team. You'll help ensure medicines are accurately dispensed, appropriately stored and readily available to support the treatment of our patients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare services.
What You'll Do
- Support the safe labelling, dispensing and supply of medicines.
- Assist with the ordering, receipt and management of pharmaceutical stock.
- Maintain drug cupboards and monitor stock levels and expiry dates.
- Support the pharmacy team with drug recalls, safety alerts and medicines management.
- Monitor and record drug storage and room temperatures.
- Prepare patient reminder charts for pharmacist or pharmacy technician checking.
- Assist with emergency medication box management.
- Maintain accurate records using GenesisCare systems.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nursing teams and consultants to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
- Participate in mandatory training, competency assessments and continuous professional development.

What You'll Have
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare, pharmacy or customer service environment is desirable.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- An understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection.
- A flexible, professional and compassionate approach.
- The ability to prioritise workload and work independently when required.
- A willingness to undertake pharmacy competency training and relevant qualifications where required.
