Pharmacy Clinical Placement Facilitator

The HEIW Pharmacy Deanery invites applications for a 0.6 FTE secondment or maternity cover position to support the Funded Pharmacy Undergraduate Clinical Placement Programme in Wales.

Developed in Partnership

Developed in partnership by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and the Schools of Pharmacy at Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities, the programme offers pharmacy undergraduates additional supervised placement days in hospitals, GP practices, and community pharmacies throughout their four-year course.

Programme Structure

The programme is structured around Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), enabling students to acquire essential clinical experience to achieve the 'does' level corresponding to Miller’s Triangle.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for managing an allocated region within this nationwide initiative, utilising their pharmaceutical expertise and background in facilitating Pharmacy Learning outcomes to ensure the delivery of a quality-assured programme. The post requires the development of effective working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including Higher Education Institutions and host training organisations across Local Health Boards and community and primary care sectors. This position presents an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic team driving impactful change in pharmacist education and training across Wales.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
