About the Role
To be employed in this role, you must pass an enhanced safeguarding check.
Our stores operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a variety of shift patterns. If you're seeking flexible working to fit your lifestyle, this role is perfect for you. While we can accommodate your shift preferences, weekend working is a requirement of this position.
Our in-store pharmacies are extremely popular, and customers expect the same warmth, friendliness, and professionalism found throughout our stores. Responsibilities include:
- Being confident and relaxed when discussing personal health issues.
- Quickly resolving customer problems and directing them to the right products.
- Accurately assembling and processing prescriptions.
- Promoting additional pharmacy services such as the Prescription Collection Service and Medicines Use Reviews.
You will support the Pharmacist in:
- Delivering and maintaining effective record-keeping of patient services (blood pressure checks, stop smoking schemes, etc.).
- Collecting prescriptions from the doctor’s surgery on behalf of customers before bringing them to the store for collection.

To ensure quality service, strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) must be followed.
You will train and advance your career through structured qualifications:
- Complete an accredited course to become a qualified Medicine Counter Assistant within 6 months.
- Progress to Dispensing Assistant training to complete your pharmacy education.
Each training milestone contributes to offering extensive customer service while developing your career.
