Pharmacy Dispenser – Cannabis-Based Medicinal Products (CMBP) Role

About the Role

We operate in a fast-moving, agile environment where accuracy is paramount, flexibility is essential, and no two days are the same. You will be part of a dedicated team that thrives under pressure, adapts quickly, and takes pride in making a genuine difference to patients’ lives.

You will be working in a specialist private pharmacy as a Pharmacy Dispenser, supporting the supply of Cannabis-Based Medicinal Products (CMBP)—a niche and growing field. The successful candidate will collaborate with specialist Clinical Pharmacists to enhance CMBP accessibility for all patients.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Receiving and validating prescriptions ready for a clinical check
  • Processing patient information appropriately and securely
  • Supporting the Responsible Pharmacist & Technicians in daily pharmacy operations
  • Serving as the first point of contact for any pharmacy-related queries
  • Maintaining relevant records for CMBP supply compliance
  • Ensuring stock and security of all CMBP onsite
  • Coordinating prescription communication with the Department of Health to meet regulatory requirements
  • Supporting governance and safety audits to ensure the pharmacy operates as safely as possible

What Do You Need?

  • A UK-qualified Pharmacy Dispenser
  • Experience working in pharmacy dispensaries (ideal in primary or secondary healthcare environments)
  • High levels of attention to detail, ability to identify errors quickly and accurately
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working under pressure, remaining calm in stressful situations
  • Strong communication skills with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
  • Professional, ethical, and committed to excellent customer care
  • Excellent computer literacy, proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ideally, an undertaking of a CPD-accredited medical cannabis educational programme (funded by Montu UK for the successful candidate)
