Pharmacy Dispenser
Pharmacy Dispenser – Thorncliffe Aseptic Unit
Your Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team at the Thorncliffe Aseptic Unit.
In this role, you will support the day-to-day dispensing, ordering, and supply of pharmacy products for homecare patients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high standard of service.
You’ll work closely with pharmacists, technicians, and wider internal teams to deliver a seamless patient experience and support the safe and efficient running of pharmacy operations.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday – Onsite Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW – just off Junction 35A of the M1. We offer free car parking.
Your Main Responsibilities

Service Delivery – Support the pharmacy team with:
- Dispensing prescriptions
- Preparing patient deliveries
- Ensuring timely and accurate supply of products to homecare patients

Dispensing & Order Management:
- Pick, dispense, and prepare pharmacy items
- Upload prescriptions to systems
- Coordinate deliveries with couriers

Stock Management & Control:
- Maintain appropriate stock levels
- Carry out stock rotations
- Manage returns and disposals
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve discrepancies

- Use SAP and internal systems for:
- Creating deliveries
- Managing pick lists
- Maintaining accurate patient and product records

Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to GDP guidelines, SOPs, and GPhC standards
- Support reporting of incidents, near misses, and continuous improvement initiatives

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work with internal departments to support patient transitions from hospital to home
- Ensure an efficient end-to-end service
What You Need To Succeed
- GCSE Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
- Dispensing Assistant qualification (Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable
- Experience working in a:
- Pharmacy dispensary
- Distribution or warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions and stock
- Patient-focused approach with a commitment to high-quality service
- Good communication skills and ability to:
- Work collaboratively with internal teams
- Ability to:
- Prioritise workload
- Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible, proactive, and adaptable mindset
