We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Dispenser to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun name, a category C Prison located in Wetherby.
HMP Wealstun is a Cat C male 980 capacity. This is a busy male prison with a high turnover. They are fortunate to have their own on site dispensary. We are looking for a Pharmacy Dispenser to support the Pharmacy Team.
Hours
Shift patterns are -
- 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm with 30 mins unpaid break
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- No bank holidays
- 37.5 hours a week
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum - depending on experience.

- Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
- Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
- Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
- Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
- Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
- Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications Required
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
- Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
- Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
