The Role of a Dispensing Assistant at Morrisons Pharmacy
Our Dispensing Assistants are essential to providing an exceptional pharmacy experience. Your key responsibilities include:
- Delivering a friendly, confidential, and attentive service to our patients
- Supporting and managing Over-The-Counter (OTC) sales and stock replenishment
- Labeling and dispensing Prescription Only Medicines (POMs)
- Safely handing out prescriptions in line with pharmacy procedures
- Helping resolve surgery queries
- Reporting dispensing errors and near misses
- Delivering a range of pharmacy services
- Supporting the Pharmacy Team and Manager in achieving agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

About You
We’re looking for a compassionate, proactive candidate who thrives in a pharmacy environment. Ideal applicants will:
- Have completed an approved Pharmacy Assistant training course (e.g., NPA Interact)
- Have completed an approved Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant course (e.g., NPA DAC – 1-year course)
- Show care and compassion for customers and be congenially helpful
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to delivering pharmacy services and meeting KPIs
- Be able to use initiative to resolve customer queries independently
- Be comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends
