Pharmacy IT Systems Support Technician – Band 2/4
About the Role
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles due to the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The role involves first-line IT support for the UHNM Pharmacy Directorate, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting for pharmacy-specific systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support for the Pharmacy Directorate, including:
- Troubleshooting faults and queries related to pharmacy IT systems such as Ascribe, Pharmacy Tracker, Episys, and Omnicell
- Escalating issues to the Pharmacy IT Support Manager, Digital Service Desk, or third-party technical support as necessary
- Conduct daily system housekeeping and administration for pharmacy IT infrastructure
- Represent the department as a polite and helpful point of contact to all users
- Accepting requirements or delivering support as required
- Maintain collaborative teamwork with:
- Pharmacy IT Systems suppliers
- Other IT support staff
- Provide working knowledge of:
- Pharmacy systems (Ascribe, Pharmacy Tracker, Episys), including routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Computer equipment (e.g., label/laser printers, PCs, peripheral devices such as digital dictation, voice recognition, barcode readers)
- Offer first-line support for a wide range of users, including:
- Clinicians
- Nurses
- Technical, management, and administrative staff across varying IT skill levels
- Assist with project-specific tasks both within Pharmacy and the broader Trust
