Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician Vacancy – Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Pharmacy Technician to provide and develop the clinical pharmacy service within Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust.

The Pharmacy Technician will join our established and respected team at St Martin’s Hospital (Canterbury). We work closely in both inpatient and community settings and are passionate about ensuring medicines safety remains at the heart of patient care.


About the Team & Opportunities

Our pharmacy team ensures comprehensive support is provided through:

  • Personal growth and training, including opportunities to achieve accredited medicine management qualifications and participate in NHS leadership courses
  • Collaborative working with a multidisciplinary team, focusing on patient-centred medicine management

Responsibilities

Key aspects of the role include delivering a comprehensive medicine management service across inpatient and community settings:

Essential Duties

  • Medicines reconciliation on admission
  • Discharge facilitation
  • Patient counselling
  • Medicines supply
  • Participation in pharmacy services within clozapine and depot clinics in the locality

Extended Roles & Additional Accomplishments

  • Contributing to audit and teaching
  • Supporting coordination and supply of clozapine to patients in the community, including near-patient testing at clozapine monitoring clinics

Requirements

The successful applicant must:

  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
  • Have access to a car/vehicle for business use (unless implementing a valid disability adjustment under the Equality Act 2010)
