Pharmacy Technician Role

What You’ll Be Doing

Our Pharmacy Technicians make a real difference by delivering outstanding patient-centred service to the communities we serve. Key tasks include:

  • Triaging patients
  • Inspiring and coaching healthcare teams
  • Providing expert technical advice on medicine supply

Key Responsibilities

  • Offering expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support
  • Providing store-dependent services as needed
  • Building strong relationships with pharmacy teams, coaching them to maintain high standards of care
  • Assisting in patient triage and distributing prescription-related information
  • Making legal, safe, and ethical decisions in the pharmacy
  • Managing operational tasks:
    • Replenishing stock
    • Workload management
    • Order fulfilment
    • Receiving and handling controlled drugs
    • Ensuring patient safety

Requirements

Must-Haves

✅ Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator: GPhC, PSNI, or PSI ✅ Strong passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team ✅ Excellent communication and organisational skills ✅ Committed to continuous improvement for patients, customers, and teams ✅ Dedication to delivering high-quality patient care ✅ Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology
