Pharmacy Technician
What You’ll Be Doing
Our Pharmacy Technicians make a real difference by delivering outstanding patient-centred service to the communities we serve. Whether it’s triaging patients, coaching the healthcare team, or guiding expert technical advice on the supply of medicines, every role is deeply impactful.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support.
- Delivering service-dependent tasks based on store needs.
- Building great relationships with your pharmacy team, coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
- Assisting with patient triage and distributing prescription handouts.
- Taking ownership for legal, safe, and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
- Managing operational tasks including:
- Replenishing stock
- Workload management
- Order fulfilment
- Receiving and handling controlled drugs
- Ensuring patient safety
What You’ll Need (Must-Haves)
- Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, or PSI).
- A genuine excitement for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
- Motivation to drive positive change for teams, customers, and patients.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. -Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.

- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability (training will be provided if needed).
