Senior Pharmacy Technician
About the Role
Our Pharmacy Technicians make a genuine impact by providing outstanding, patient-centred care—from triaging patients and advising on medicines to coaching healthcare teams and ensuring ethical, legal supply. You’ll play a critical role in delivered exceptional service and improving the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert advice: Offer tailored guidance to patients on available medicines, products, and Macmillan Cancer Support.
- Service delivery: Fulfill pharmacy tasks based on store requirements.
- Leadership & team support: Build strong relationships with pharmacy staff, inspire team performance, and uphold highest care standards.
- Patient triage & support: Assist with patient consultations and distribute prescription handouts.
- Legal & ethical responsibility: Take ownership of safe, ethical, and compliant decision-making in dispensing.
- Operational management:
- Stock replenishment
- Workload & order fulfilment
- Handling controlled drugs
- Prioritising patient safety
Essential Requirements
- Regulator registration: Registered with the relevant body (GPhC, PSNI, or PSI) for pharmacy operation.
- Coaching mindset: Genuine enthusiasm for leading a dispensary team.
- Communication & organisation: Exceptional skills in patient interaction and logistics.
- Caring attitude: Motivation to improve experiences for patients, teams, and customers.
- System proficiency: Ability to use pharmacy software and technology.
