Pharmacy Technician
What You’ll Be Doing
Our Pharmacy Technicians make a real difference by delivering outstanding patient-centred service to the communities we serve. From triaging patients and coaching healthcare teams to providing expert technical advice on the supply of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about available medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support
- Delivering store-dependent services
- Building great relationships with the pharmacy team, coaching, and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care
- Assisting with triage of patients and distributing prescription handouts
- Taking ownership for legal, safe, and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy
- Managing operational tasks, including:
- Replenishing stock
- Managing workload
- Order fulfilment
- Receiving and handling controlled drugs
- Ensuring patient safety
Requirements
Must-haves:
- Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI)
- A genuine excitement for coaching and leading a dispensary team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Motivation to improve things for:
- Teams
- Customers
- Patients
- A desire to deliver services and outstanding patient care
- Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology
