We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Dovegate, a category B prison located in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
In this role, you will provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients while maintaining efficiency and quality.
Hours
- Monday–Sunday service: 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 6:45 AM – 6.15 PM
- Weekends: 7:45 AM – 6.15 PM
- 1 weekend in 4
- 4-week rolling rota
Salary
£29,264 – £33,510 per annum (dependent on experience)

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK, and eligible roles will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will focus on:
- Providing outstanding patient-centred care, listening to and acting on patient feedback to ensure healthcare is personalised and meets their needs.
- Delivering a safe and secure medicines management service, maintaining accurate patient medical records, and strictly following standard operating procedures.
- Offering non-judgemental care—ranging from medicines administration to cost-effective prescribing, aligned with our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
- Working as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, helping to create positive health outcomes.

Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent qualification
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Up-to-date Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Post-qualification pharmacy experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while adhering to policy and procedures
Ideal Candidates (but not essential)
- Experience in a hospital, community, or prison healthcare setting
