About the role
Reporting to: Head of Pharmacy
Job type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive
Working Pattern & Hours: This is a hybrid full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled Monday to Saturday between 7:00am and 8:00pm.
Location: Hybrid (Office located: Craigavon, Co. Armagh)
At Chemist4U, we’re excited to be growing and are looking for Pharmacy Technicians to join our team and make a real difference to patients’ lives every day. This position is responsible for supporting the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will work alongside pharmacists and dispensary teams to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately, medicines are supplied safely, and patients receive a high standard of care. The role includes supporting dispensing operations, undertaking pharmaceutical and administrative tasks, providing patient support via telephone and telemedicine platforms, assisting with NHS and private clinical services, and contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement activities. As this is a hub-based role, there is limited to no face-to-face contact with patients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the following:
- Support the safe and efficient dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements
- Undertake prescription management activities in compliance with current legislation, professional standards, and company SOPs
- Conduct final accuracy checks where accredited and authorised by the company
- Support pharmacists in the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services, including undertaking appropriate training to provide current and future commissioned services
- Communicate effectively with patients via telephone, email, and telemedicine platforms to support their healthcare needs
- Provide advice and guidance within the scope of a registered Pharmacy Technician's competence and refer clinical queries to a pharmacist when appropriate
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legal and governance requirements
- Record and report dispensing incidents, near misses, and quality concerns in accordance with company procedures
- Assist with staff induction, training, coaching, and ongoing development to promote safe and effective working practices
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and support compliance with GPhC, PSNI, NHS, and company standards
- Always maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and information governance requirements
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Pharmacy Manager, commensurate with the role's responsibilities.

About You
You’re a registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC who takes real pride in delivering safe, high-quality care. You have a strong eye for detail and understand how important accuracy is when it comes to patient safety.
You’re organised, able to manage your workload effectively, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You communicate confidently with patients, whether that’s over the phone or through online consultation platforms, and you always approach interactions with professionalism and empathy.
Most importantly, you bring a positive, proactive attitude. You enjoy learning and are excited by the opportunity to be part of a team that’s continually evolving and making improvements to its services.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful Pharmacy Technician will need to showcase the following skills and experience:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Maintains GPhC registration and fulfils continuing professional development (CPD) requirements
- A Level 3 qualification in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent), such as a Diploma, NVQ, or BTEC
- Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification desirable but not essential
- Experience working within a community, online, hospital, or primary care pharmacy environment
- Experience operating within standard operating procedures, regulatory frameworks, and governance requirements
- Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience.
