Role: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician with prior prison healthcare experience to join our dedicated team in Chelmsford. You’ll play a vital role in supporting safe and efficient pharmaceutical services within a secure environment, ensuring high standards of care for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense and prepare prescriptions accurately under pharmacist supervision.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and secure storage of medicines.
  • Support medication administration and compliance within prison healthcare protocols.
  • Provide advice and support to patients and healthcare staff on medication use.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to prison security procedures.
  • Assist in audits, quality assurance, and compliance with NHS and GPhC standards.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience working in a prison or secure healthcare setting is essential.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and security-conscious teams.
