Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly team based at our automated pharmacy at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford (GU2 7LX). We are a multi-site organisation with inpatient units in Guildford, Chertsey (Silverwood Unit), and Epsom (Meadows, West Park), plus a Research and Development team at Two Bridges, Chertsey.

This role involves working across our inpatient sites and includes medicines reconciliation, inpatient and outpatient dispensing, final accuracy checking, supporting clozapine supply, and contributing to clinical trials. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a flexible, multi-skilled approach.

Mental health experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Applicants must hold a BTEC and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Pharmacy Services and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Band 5 is subject to meeting progression criteria. We welcome applicants from primary or secondary care looking to change specialties.

This is a Monday–Friday role with no weekend work. Full-time is preferred, but part-time and flexible working options will be considered. Travel between sites is required; a driving licence and access to a car are preferred.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
