We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP New Hall, a female prison and young offenders institution (YOI) in Flockton, West Yorkshire.

Hours

  • 37.5 hours working 3-4 shifts over 7 days, 6.45am-6pm or 7am-6pm
  • 1 weekend in 4

Salary

  • This position is full time
  • You’ll receive an annual salary up to £41,658 per annum FTE - depending on experience

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Desirable - ACT trained but can offer training if not
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
