Woodland Hospital, Kettering
Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician/ACT to join our expanding pharmacy team at Woodland Hospital in Kettering. As a valued member of the department, you will support the Pharmacy Manager and team in delivering high-quality pharmacy services, including:
- Ordering and stock control
- Drug and medicine preparation
- Staff development and training across the hospital
- Process improvement and decision-making support

Where You’ll Be Based
The Woodland Hospital is a leading provider of private and NHS "Choose & Book" healthcare services in Northamptonshire. As part of the Ramsay Health Care UK group, we prioritise excellence in medical technology and patient care. Our hospital offers:
- Four theatres, day case, and inpatient wards
- MRI scanner and consulting rooms
- Specialist services, including eye surgery and endoscopy (supported by our nearby Glendon Hospital)
- A range of medical specialities delivered with high standards of care
The pharmacy department plays a crucial role in ensuring medication provision across both hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Ensuring accurate and legal dispensing of prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, adhering to Ramsay Health Care Policies and Procedures
- Manufacturing pharmacy goods in compliance with regulations
- Supporting pharmacists to:
- Regularly check Inpatient Prescription Record Charts for clinical and financial appropriateness
- Ensure patients receive sufficient medication supplies
- Providing pharmaceutical advice to patients, carers, and clinical staff
- Supervising, training, and coaching new staff on a case-by-case basis
- Maintaining confidentiality and patient care standards in line with Ramsay and GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) guidelines
- Participating in weekend and bank holiday rotas on a rotational basis

Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent qualification)
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- At least four GCSEs (A–C grades) in English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently
- Flexibility and adaptability to support operational changes
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills
- (Preferred but not essential) Experience in a hospital environment
