PHD Peer Review – Ecology
Peer Reviewer (Academic Journals) – Part-Time (Remote)
Note: This is a long-term, stable part-time role supporting remote work. Please review the requirements carefully and apply accurately.
Requirements
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Doctorate PhD or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area
- Published at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals over the past three years
- Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards within their field
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and constructive feedback
- Reliable time management and adherence to deadlines
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity
- Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable
- Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms

Key Responsibilities
As a Peer Reviewer, you will perform the following duties:
- Assess Novelty: Evaluate the originality of the manuscript and its contribution to the field
- Review Study Design and Methodology: Ensure the research design, methods, and reproducibility are appropriately justified
- Examine Literature Review: Verify that the manuscript adequately cites relevant, up-to-date research
- Analyse Results and Conclusions: Confirm whether the data supports conclusions and assess their significance to the research community
- Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer actionable suggestions for improvements while identifying flaws, gaps, or ethical concerns
- Support Decision-Making: Assist journal editors in determining whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on your evaluation
