PHD Peer Review – Ecology

Peer Reviewer (Academic Journals) – Part-Time (Remote)

Note: This is a long-term, stable part-time role supporting remote work. Please review the requirements carefully and apply accurately.


Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Doctorate PhD or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area
  • Published at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals over the past three years
  • Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards within their field
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written communication, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and constructive feedback
  • Reliable time management and adherence to deadlines
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity
  • Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms

Key Responsibilities

As a Peer Reviewer, you will perform the following duties:

  • Assess Novelty: Evaluate the originality of the manuscript and its contribution to the field
  • Review Study Design and Methodology: Ensure the research design, methods, and reproducibility are appropriately justified
  • Examine Literature Review: Verify that the manuscript adequately cites relevant, up-to-date research
  • Analyse Results and Conclusions: Confirm whether the data supports conclusions and assess their significance to the research community
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer actionable suggestions for improvements while identifying flaws, gaps, or ethical concerns
  • Support Decision-Making: Assist journal editors in determining whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on your evaluation
