PHD Peer Review Need– Anesthesiology

Peer Reviewer Role (Long-Term, Stable, Part-Time, Remote)

This is a long-term, stable part-time position supporting remote work. Please review the recruitment requirements carefully before applying.


What You Need to Have

  • Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area
  • Published at least 5 peer-reviewed papers in SCI/SSCI journals within or during the past three years
  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Research methodologies
    • Ethical principles within their discipline
  • Strong skills in:
    • Analytical and critical thinking
    • Written communication, with the ability to provide:
      • Clear, concise feedback
      • Constructive evaluations
  • Ability to:
    • Adhere to deadlines
    • Manage time effectively
    • Maintain confidentiality and remain objective
  • Highly desirable prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems

What You Will Do

  • Assess Novelty: Evaluate if the manuscript is original and adds new knowledge or insights to the field
  • Evaluate Study Design and Methodology:
    • Check if the study design and methods are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described
    • Ensure reproducibility
  • Literature Review: Ensure the manuscript:
    • Thoroughly incorporates relevant research
    • Cites up-to-date sources in the field
  • Analyse Results and Conclusions:
    • Assess if results are clearly presented and appropriately analysed
    • Verify if conclusions are supported by the data and significant to the field
  • Provide Constructive Feedback:
    • Suggest improvements
    • Highlight any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns
  • Recommend Next Steps: The journal editor will use your evaluation to decide whether the manuscript should be:
    • Accepted
    • Revised
    • Rejected
