Long-Term, Stable Part-Time Role: Peer Reviewer (Remote)

This is a long-term, stable part-time job that supports remote work. Please read the recruitment requirements carefully and submit an accurate application. Thank you.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have obtained a Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in an applicable subject area.
  • Published at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals within the past three years.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles within your discipline.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Maintains strong written communication skills, capable of delivering clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrates time management proficiency, adhering to deadlines and managing workload effectively.
  • Committed to confidentiality and objectivity in every review.
  • Prior experience as an academic peer reviewer is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

As a peer reviewer, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing Novelty: Determining whether the manuscript presents original research and contributes new knowledge or insights to the field.
  • Evaluating Study Design & Methodology: Ensuring the study design and methods are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly documented for reproducibility.
  • Reviewing Literature: Verifying that the manuscript thoroughly incorporates and cites the most relevant, up-to-date research in the field.
  • Analysing Results & Conclusions: Evaluating whether the results are clearly presented and if the conclusions are logically supported by the data, with significance to the field in question.
  • Providing Constructive Feedback: Identifying areas for improvement, highlighting flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns for authors to address.
  • Recommendation for Publication: Your review will aid the editor-in-chief in deciding whether to:
    • Accept the manuscript,
    • Request revisions, or
    • Decline publication.
