Academic Peer Reviewer – Primary Reviewer Position
About the Role
This is a long-term, stable part-time role supporting remote work. Candidates should carefully review the requirements before applying.
Requirements
To qualify, you must have:
- A Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area
- Published at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years
- A thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles in your discipline
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate scholarly work
- Strong written communication abilities, providing clear, concise, and constructive feedback
- The ability to adhere to deadlines and manage workload efficiently
- A commitment to confidentiality and objectivity
- Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable
- Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems

Responsibilities
Key tasks include:
- Assessing Novelty: Determine whether the manuscript is original and contributes new knowledge or insights to the field.
- Evaluating Study Design & Methodology: Ensure the methodology is appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described for replication.
- Literature Review Application: Verify the manuscript adequately references current and relevant research.
- Analysing Results & Conclusions: Assess whether findings are presented logically and conclusions are supported by evidence, with field significance.
- Providing Constructive Feedback: Flag improvements, flaws, omissions, or ethical issues while maintaining professionalism.
- Recommendation for Publication: (Based on review) only the editorial team makes final decisions on accept/revise/reject status, though reviews substantially inform these choices.
