Peer Reviewer for Academic Journals (Long-term, stable part-time, remote position)
Requirements (Essential Qualifications)
- Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant discipline
- Publication track record: At least 5 papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years
- Demonstrable expertise in:
- Research methodologies within the discipline
- Ethical principles of academic research
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for rigorous manuscript evaluation
- Excellent written communication with the ability to provide:
- Clear, concise, and constructive feedback
- Well-structured recommendations for improvements
- Ability to:
- Meet deadlines consistently
- Manage time efficiently
- Uphold confidentiality and objecticity
- Preferred but not required:
- Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals
- Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems

Core Responsibilities
You will assess the scientific, methodological, and literary merit of manuscripts before publication, following these criteria:

Novelty Evaluation:
- Determine if the manuscript presents original contributions to the field
- Assess whether it provides new knowledge or insights

Study Design & Methodology Review:
- Verify if the study design and methods are appropriate, comprehensive, and reproducible
- Confirm clear documentation of methodologies for transparency

Literature Review Assessment:
- Ensure the manuscript integrates relevant, up-to-date research from the field
- Check for comprehensive citations and rigorous review of prior work
