About the Role

This is a long-term, stable part-time position for an expert academic peer reviewer (remote-friendly).


Requirements

⚠️ Essential Qualifications

To be eligible, candidates must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area.
  • Published at least 5 papers in SCI / SSCI journals within/during the past three years.
  • Thorough engagement with research methodologies and adherence to ethical principles in the discipline.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for in-depth assessments.
  • Excellent written communication, ensuring feedback is clear, concise, and constructive.
  • Reliable time management with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.

  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems (e.g., ScholarOne, Editorial Manager, etc.).

Responsibilities

Your core duties include:

  • Assessing Novelty: Judge whether the manuscript presents original knowledge or insights to the field.
  • Evaluating Study Design and Methodology:
    • Review if the study’s design and methods are well-suited, thorough, and clearly documented.
    • Ensure reproducibility is feasible with available details.
  • Checking Literature Review:
    • Verify that the manuscript critically incorporates and properly cites relevant, up-to-date research.
  • Analyzing Results and Conclusions:
    • Confirm results are clear, logically presented, and appropriately interpreted.
    • Assess whether conclusions align with data and hold significance to the field.
  • Providing Constructive Feedback:
    • Highlight strengths and offer actionable suggestions for improvement.
    • Identify gaps, weaknesses, or ethical concerns for the author’s consideration.
  • Supporting Editorial Decisions:
    • Forward your review to the journal editor, who will make a final recommendation (acceptance, revision, or rejection) based on your evaluation.
