Senior Scholarly Peer Reviewer – Academic Journal
Location: Fully remote Contract: Long-term, stable part-time
About the Role
We seek a highly qualified academic professional to serve as a peer reviewer for our esteemed SCI/SSCI academic journals. Your rigorous analytical skills and deep disciplinary expertise will be essential in reviewing manuscripts to uphold standards of novelty, methodological rigor, and ethical conduct in publishing.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- A Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area.
- At least 5 peer-reviewed publications in Q1 SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.

Expertise & Proficiencies
- Expert knowledge of research methodologies and ethical principles within your field.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Scientific writing proficiency: ability to convey precise, objective, and professional feedback.
- Time-management excellence: meeting strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality reviews.
- Absolute integrity in confidentiality and objectivity for sensitive manuscripts.
- Strong prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with online manuscript platforms (e.g., ScholarOne, Manuscript Central, PeerGate).
Key Responsibilities
- Originality Assessment: Determine whether the manuscript proposals original material and adds meaningful new insights to the academic conversation.
- Study Design Evaluation: Validate that the research design and methodologies are correct, reproducible, and well-documented for academic scrutiny.
- Literature ReviewScrutiny: Vet whether the author has thoroughly cited recent and relevant research and avoided unnecessary gaps.
- Results & Conclusion Analysis:
- Assess clarity, significance, and statistical rigor of findings.
- Validate whether conclusions logically follow from the provided data.
- Constructive Feedback: Draft detailed, actionable suggestions to help authors refine theirs manuscripts.
- Recommendation Support: Partner with editors to advise on whether a manuscript warrants acceptance, revision, or rejection based on reviewer reports.
