PHD Peer Review – Toxicology

Peer Reviewer – Long-Term Part-Time (Remote)

Note: This is a long-term, stable part-time role with remote work options. Please review the recruitment requirements carefully and complete the application form accurately.


Requirements

Applicants must have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area
  • Published at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals within the last three years
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Research methodologies
    • Ethical principles within the discipline
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the capacity to deliver:
    • Clear, concise, and constructive feedback
  • Ability to:
    • Manage time effectively
    • Meet deadlines reliably
  • Commitment to:
    • Objectivity
    • Strict confidentiality
  • Bonus: Previous experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals preferred
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess Novelty: Evaluate whether the manuscript presents original research or contributes novel insights to the field
  • Evaluate Study Design & Methodology:
    • Verify if the study design is appropriate
    • Confirm that methods are comprehensive and well-documented
    • Ensure reproducibility
  • Review Literature: Validate that the manuscript:
    • Covers relevant, up-to-date research
    • Includes adequate citations
  • Analyse Results & Conclusions:
    • Assess if data presentation is clear and valid
    • Check that conclusions align with findings
    • Determine significance for the field
  • Provide Constructive Feedback:
    • Suggest improvements
    • Identify flaws, gaps, or ethical concerns
  • Recommend Publication:
    • Provide unbiased evaluation to assist editorial decision-making
    • Manuscripts may be accepted, revised, or rejected based on the reviewer’s assessment
