Job Opportunity: Part-time Band 3 Phlebotomist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, enthusiastic Band 3 Phlebotomist to join our CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ Trust.
About the Role
Based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, you will be working with a team of Phlebotomists. The department is expanding its opening hours and will be open between Monday to Friday between 08:00-18:00 hrs and on alternative Saturday mornings between 08:00-13:00 hrs. We are a busy, dynamic department and would like to hear from suitable qualified people.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
- Ensure safe collection of blood samples according to agreed procedures.
- Ensure appropriate and accurate labelling and dispatch specimens to laboratories.
- To answer the telephone and deal with calls politely and efficiently.
Requirements
You will have had recent phlebotomy experience (minimum 6 months) and are expected to complete our local competency assessments.

Working Hours
This post is 33.5 hours per week, on a 2 week working pattern:
Week 1
- Monday: 08:00 to 18:00
- Wednesday: 08:00 to 18:00
- Thursday: 08:00 to 13:00
- Friday: 08:00 to 18:00
Week 2
- Monday: 08:00 to 18:00
- Wednesday: 08:00 to 18:00
- Friday: 08:00 to 18:00
- Saturday: 08:00 to 13:00
