Phlebotomist – Technical Officer Level 1 (PN 50887) Employment Type: Part Time (25 Hours Per Week), Permanent Location: Canberra Health Services, ACT Pathology Salary: $74,490 – $75,529 per annum (Plus 12.5% super) Closing Date: 16th July 2026

About the Role
As a Phlebotomist within Customer Services, ACT Pathology, you’ll play a critical role in connecting patients, clinicians, and pathology services. Your duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Collect pathology samples across multiple sites:
- Canberra Hospital
- North Canberra Hospital
- National Capital Private Hospital
- Community-based outpatient centres
- Home collection service for vulnerable patients
- Provide customer service at reception (data entry, filing, payroll tasks).
- Maintain inventory and equipment/ specimens, including cryopreservation.
- Act as a liaison between patients/visitors and clinicians, ensuring efficient communication.
- Adhere to work health and safety protocols, including Manual Task Risk Management and Infection Prevention Control.

This role operates Mon–Sun (including public holidays) across a 7am–5:30pm schedule, though part-time hours (5h/day over 5 days/week) are flexible.
Person Specifications
- Proven experience as a Phlebotomist (registration with relevant governing body).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbal + written).
- Commitment to:
- Exceptional customer service
- Adherence to legislation, procedures, and ethical standards
- Flexible, team-based work (multi-site availability required)
- Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs, including crisis or challenging presentations.

Prior to commencement, candidates must:
