Ecommerce Photographer – JD Studio
About the Role

Role Overview
The Ecommerce Photographer will produce high-quality, on-brand imagery for JD’s e-commerce platforms, ensuring products are captured accurately and compellingly. Based at The Sharp Project, the role involves:
- Collaborating with stylists, creatives, and retouchers in a fast-paced studio environment
- Ensuring compliance with style guides, seasonally updated imagery standards
- Occasionally providing support at JD’s Distribution Centre footwear studio for consistency

You will leverage technical photography expertise, maintain strict deadlines, and prioritise brand impact and commercial success, contributing to a seamless customer experience that drives sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality e-commerce product imagery in alignment with style guides, updating and maintaining these guides seasonally.
- Manage daily shoot schedules, achieving quality, productivity, and cost-per-product targets while ensuring on-time delivery of assets.
- Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot studio sets, equipment, and lighting, adhering to established procedures and testing workflows.
- Collaborate with stylists, retouchers, and content teams to curate compelling imagery and meet creative/commercial briefs.
- Innivate photography techniques and provide new photography ideas, contributing to creative reviews and meetings.
- Track, report, and streamline communication around shoot progress and asset delivery.
- Foster teamwork and mentorship among studio members, sharing knowledge across departments.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient studio environment, including kit checks and after-work procedures.
- Proactively resolve discrepancies, adapt to urgent briefs, and exhibit resilience in a dynamic setting.
- Provide occasional support to the Distribution Centre footwear studio.

Requirements & Skills
- Strong technical proficiency in:
- Digital photography and studio lighting
- Camera operation, lenses, and Capture One software
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume e-commerce or commercial studios
- Exceptional attention to detail for colour accuracy and brand consistency
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage time efficiently, and oversee shoots to targets
- Collaborative mindset with stylists, retouchers, and creatives
- Awareness of current photography trends, with flexibility to adapt visual styles
- Problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot technical or workflow challenges
- Proactive, organised, and workflow-oriented
