Ecommerce Photographer
Role Overview The Ecommerce Photographer is responsible for producing high-quality, on-brand imagery for JD Sports’s e-commerce platforms, ensuring products are captured with accuracy and visual impact. Working in a fast-paced studio environment at The Sharp Project, Manchester, you will collaborate with stylists, creatives, and retouchers to deliver consistent, commercially focused photography that supports the customer journey and drives sales.
This role demands strong technical skills in digital photography, lighting, and a keen eye for detail. Efficient work under tight deadlines while adhering to JD Sports’ brand standards is essential.
The role will also require occasional support at JD’s Distribution Centre footwear studio to ensure imaging consistency across all e-commerce platforms.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Capture high-quality e-commerce imagery in line with style guides, updating and maintaining them seasonally.
- Manage daily shoot schedules, meeting productivity, quality, and cost-per-product targets, while ensuring imagery is live within agreed deadlines.
- Prepare, maintain and troubleshoot studio sets, equipment, and lighting, ensuring procedural adherence and adherence to brand standards.
- Collaborate with stylists, retouchers, and content teams to:
- Select the strongest images
- Deliver assets that meet creative and commercial goals
- Contribute to innovation in photography outputs through idea generation, participating in team meetings and reviews.
- Track, report, and communicate shoot progress and asset delivery accurately.
- Mentor and assist team members, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Maintain a safe, organised studio environment, including efficient studio close-downs and equipment return procedures.
- Proactively resolve technical discrepancies, adapt to last-minute briefs, demonstrating resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide occasional support to JD’s Distribution Centre footwear studio.

Requirements
Technical Competencies
✔ Strong technical expertise in digital photography, studio lighting, composition, and image control. ✔ Experience in fast-paced e-commerce or commercial studio environments. ✔ Proficiency in:
- Industry-standard cameras (e.g., Canon, Sony)
- Lenses (e.g., tilt-shift, macro)
- Capture One software ✔ Knowledge of post-production processes and workflows. ✔ Familiarity with current photography trends.
