About The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled PHP Laravel Developer to join our vibrant development team in Guildford, Surrey. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated developer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of business-critical applications that support our international operations. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced developers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs and improve operational efficiency. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong foundation in PHP development, particularly using the Laravel framework, and a passion for problem-solving and collaborative work. You will be involved in developing REST API integrations, enhancing existing systems, and supporting application deployment and testing processes. Qualifications
- Proven commercial experience in PHP development, with a strong preference for Laravel or similar MVC frameworks.
- Experience working with REST APIs and testing tools such as Postman.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and/or TypeScript.
- Experience with database development and querying using SQL Server and/or MySQL.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to project management.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications and APIs using PHP and Laravel framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that align with business goals.
- Implement and test RESTful APIs to ensure seamless integration with third-party services and internal systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Assist in deploying applications and managing version control processes.
- Maintain and optimize database queries to improve application performance.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve development processes.
- Support existing applications by troubleshooting issues and implementing necessary updates or fixes.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and documentation efforts to foster a collaborative working environment.
